Biosteam Carpet Care was born from a need for an all-natural, effective, and reliable carpet cleaning provider to the San Mateo Coastside. Over the years Guy Mindle had hired several of the local carpet cleaners to clean the carpets in his residence with mixed results. It was his last experience in 2008 that inspired him to launch Biosteam Carpet Care with his long-time friend, and co-worker, Salvador Serrano.

“We scheduled our appointment and they showed up 2 hours late. After pointing out what I wanted to have cleaned I was provided with a cryptic estimate that was not only expensive, but completely illegible. Next he began spraying a very strong smelling solution all over the house and began with what I assume was the cleaning process. I admit that the carpets did look better so I was fine with paying the invoice. Just before he drove off I happened to looked out my window and saw him dumping the waste water into my garden. I didn’t think much of it at the time but 2 days later half of my garden was dead. My carpets remained wet after 24 hours and most of the old stains came back shortly thereafter.”

After speaking with friends and neighbors he was shocked to learn that others shared similar experiences and seemed to be normal for this industry. Feeling strongly that his community deserved better, Guy began researching the carpet cleaning industry, its practices, the chemicals used, and the different methods currently available. It quickly became apparent that not only could he do this, he could do it better than anyone. Six months later, Biosteam Carpet Care was born and was providing the San Mateo Coastside with a superior all natural carpet cleaning service. Today they service the entire Bay Area and have added upholstery cleaning and tile and grout cleaning to the list of services they offer.
